YONEX BG 66 Ultimax

YONEX BG 66 Ultimax is a high-performance badminton string designed for players who want excellent repulsion, sharp hitting response, speed, and precise control. It is widely appreciated by badminton enthusiasts who prefer a lively string that responds quickly to fast swings and aggressive shots. Its thin-gauge construction provides a responsive feel, making it a popular choice for players who want to maximize the performance of their badminton racket.

Key Features

⚡ Excellent Repulsion Power
BG 66 Ultimax is designed to provide a highly responsive string bed. Its strong repulsion helps the shuttle leave the racket quickly, making it suitable for fast clears, drives, quick exchanges, and attacking shots. Players who enjoy a fast and energetic style of badminton can benefit from its lively response.

🎯 Precise Control
The string offers a responsive and accurate hitting feel that can help players control the shuttle effectively. It is suitable for delicate shots such as net play, drops, pushes, and fast placement shots. When combined with the appropriate racket and tension, it can provide a precise response for advanced techniques.

🏸 Thin Gauge Construction
Its thin-gauge design contributes to a crisp and responsive hitting sensation. A thinner string can provide excellent shuttle response and repulsion, allowing experienced players to feel the shuttle more directly during fast rallies and technical shots.

🔥 Excellent for Attacking Play
BG 66 Ultimax is a strong option for players who enjoy aggressive badminton. The responsive nature of the string can complement powerful smashes, fast drives, attacking clears, and quick follow-up shots. It is particularly attractive to players who prioritize speed and responsiveness.

💨 Fast Response for Quick Rallies
Modern badminton involves rapid exchanges, and a responsive string can help players react quickly. BG 66 Ultimax is designed to provide a quick hitting response, making it suitable for fast-paced doubles games as well as aggressive singles play.

Playing Feel

YONEX BG 66 Ultimax provides a crisp, lively, and responsive feel. The actual sensation can vary depending on racket type, string tension, stringing technique, temperature, and individual playing style. Players who prefer a sharper and more direct response may particularly enjoy this string.

Suitable for Different Players

BG 66 Ultimax can be used by intermediate and advanced badminton players who understand their preferred racket tension and playing characteristics. Skilled recreational players and competitive players may also choose it when they want a fast, responsive string setup.

Beginners can use the string as well, but because thinner strings generally require more careful handling and may not be as durable as thicker strings, beginners should select an appropriate tension and avoid excessive off-center hits.

Recommended For

✔ Players who want high repulsion
✔ Fast and aggressive playing styles
✔ Advanced and intermediate badminton players
✔ Players who enjoy crisp hitting feedback
✔ Fast drives and attacking rallies
✔ Net shots, drops, and precision play
✔ Singles and doubles badminton

String Tension

The ideal tension depends on the player’s skill level, racket specifications, technique, and personal preference. Higher tension can provide a more precise and sharper response, while lower tension generally offers a more forgiving feel and a larger sweet spot. Always stay within the racket manufacturer’s recommended tension range and use a skilled professional stringer for installation.

Durability and Care

Because BG 66 Ultimax is designed with a thin gauge to emphasize responsiveness and repulsion, durability can depend significantly on playing style, tension, racket condition, and the frequency of off-center hits. Players who frequently play powerful shots or use high tension should understand that performance-oriented thin strings may require more frequent restringing than thicker, durability-focused strings.
